Geekfriendly Tools for Windows
Although I use Linux most of the time, I sometimes need to use
Windows.
While using it I discovered more and more tools to make it a geekfriendlyer
OS. Here you can find some of them in a hyperlinked list.
Editors
- VIM
- My favorite vi
clone.
-
Elvis
- A more compact vi clone for Windows.
SSH
- Putty
- Simply the greatest SSH client available for Windows.
- SSH Secure
Shell for Workstations (WinSSH)
- The terminal emulation of this client is not as good as Putty (and it's
commercial...). But it's graphical D'n'D-capable sftp client rocks.
Web Browsers
- K-Meleon
- My favorite lightweight browser for Windows.
